My Services

Music Therapy for Individuals and Families

The music therapy process opens up unique avenues for communication, expression, and awareness. Through active music-making within a secure therapeutic relationship, the music therapist helps children and adults address a wide range of emotional, physiological, cognitive and developmental needs. Music used in all its creative facets within a safe therapeutic relationship can help clients express and release emotions, overcome blocks and limitations, and reach their full potential.

Sessions may include verbal processing, music-assisted relaxation, music and imagery, movement to music, instrument play, improvisation, drumming, voice work, songwriting, other creative arts modalities and/or the use of somatic exercises as we work towards clients reaching their full potential and accessing their healthy, creative and resilient selves.

Who can benefit?

  • New parents, infants and siblings
  • Children, teens and adults with anxiety, depression, trauma or other mental health needs
  • People with chronic illness, chronic pain and/or neurological illness/injury
  • Older adults, dementia, memory care
  • Bereaved individuals and families
  • Healthcare workers facing burnout / vicarious trauma
  • Adults facing life transitions and creative blocks

I offer a free 15 min consultation to answer any questions about music therapy and my services. Following this I conduct an initial assessment session to explore how music therapy may best support my client’s needs and goals. Sessions are then scheduled and tailored to address these goals with ongoing assessment in collaboration with my clients.

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is key in promoting ongoing reflective practice, skills building, and clinician resilience. I offer individual and group clinical supervision for music therapists in all career stages. I use active music making and other creative techniques to promote dialogue, exploration and inquiry. In addition to bearing witness to your clinical work I can support you in exploring personal and professional goals, program development and workplace wellness. Clinical supervision sessions are available both in-person and remote.

Groups & Workshops

Music has the ability to bring us together in community and foster connection in a uniquely powerful way. Music therapy sessions take on an extra magic in a group setting. When guided by skilled music therapist, group participants share a safe environment throughout which to grow and heal through shared music-making and creative expression. Some of the groups offered:

  • Parents Group: Birth Preparation and Bonding with Baby
  • Music for Social Skills Building
  • Tending to Grief through Expressive Arts
  • Cultivating Resilience for Healthcare Workers
